Time to freshen up that yellow line?

This passenger seems to have trouble seeing it at Erindale. It being #RSW2015 and all.

But seriously, we're adults, we don't need to be babysat about what's safe behaviour on platforms.

Don't do this.

High speed trains pass by at anytime... You know the rest. Add some noise cancelling headphones into the mix and well...

  1. I noticed many were well back of the yellow line tonight at Platform 24.

  4. I noticed a huge difference in the behavior of hundreds of passengers tonight, especially when I took a stroll on 12/13 before heading back down to 24.

What I think really needs to be addressed is the ridiculous BS being pulled by the Richmond Hill passengers (13) and that lining up crap. What is that?! Who started that and why are others made to feel they are forced to play??? I spoke to a few to find out. One woman said it had been this way when they were on Platform 1, which actually was wide enough to allow this and wasn't a shared platform. She said with each shift, the lining up has just been the norm.

It demonstrated to me that this stupidity made it difficult for the Barrie passengers on 12 to move around them.

How this behavior (which has gone on for far too long) has been acceptable is stunning to me. The platforms aren't built for this bullying.

Sure, lining up is great in theory but there are huge gaps of space and they create this maze that other passengers wind up walking the platform edge to get around them.

  5. and god forbid you dont know the "line up rule" for Richmond hill trains....i got chewed out because i accidentally butted their line not intending to do so.... not knowing the "rule" i learned rather quickly not to do that in the future....

  6. Why is this bullying allowed?
I'm not discrediting the value of a line as it sure beats the pigs at the trough method but for FFS, the platform at 12/13 can't handle this crap. It's not fair to the Barrie people.

  7. I was told that the Richmond Hill train should have arrived at the station 20min prior to departure and that never seems to happen. Yesterday the line wasn't bad because the train managed to arrive at 1715 and not the usual 1725.

  8. Also from what I see, Barrie trains arrive way ahead of their departure time and are not really subject to the crowding. It's the Richmond Hill trains that are consistently late and causing crowding. The Barrie trains arrive usually 15-20 min before departure while the Richmond Hill ones gives you maybe 5 min.

  10. Thanks CJ! It's not really our fault but we used to get 2 platforms to board with trains arriving around 1723-1725. But now we only have 1 platform and 1 track all to ourselves and the train still can't get here on time. There wouldn't be all this crowding if our train arrives 20min before their scheduled departure time as most of the crowding starts after 1715.

  11. As a RH rider, you quickly learn about the line up rule. Funny how each line has it own quirks and train culture.
