Once the train has stopped, pull the red cord and they open. Easy. People have done it in the past when they missed their stop and felt the need to inconvenience everyone else on the train.
Wonder what that train hit? It looks like the doors were torn open, a much more dangerous event for the passengers.

Looking closer, the doors were open BEFORE the train had stopped. What a way to run a railway.
I know right? Isn't it awesome?!
Yeah. An automatic ejection system in case of a an accident.
