Why are benches not a priority for GO Transit's first-class passengers?

This will probably start a debate but I think there should be designated smoking spots at go stations like there are at wonderland and disney etc. That way the smokers have somewhere to go and the people who are allergic to it or non smokes can avoid that area. Not saying it will completely solve the issue but it might help....
ReplyDeleteThey do have a designated spot. The parking lot. The fence lines. The public sidewalk to the station... But, I'm actually in support of a designated area with shelter (not enclosed) and benches.
ReplyDeleteBut it won't deter people from smoking on the platform. The platform is protected by the Smoke Free Ontario Act. It's a place where GO conducts its business. The platform is convenient.
It wouldn't really make that big a difference. Everybody wants to be "independent", and the rules are "for the collective".
