Few TTC riders step up to pay more to take GO

Give it more time and more marketing. That’s what transit officials counselled when the first test of an integrated TTC-GO fare got off to a slow start last winter.

But it hasn’t worked.

    The theory of Exhibition - Union being a benefit for Liberty Village is only true if the train runs on time and as scheduled.

    LSW is chronically delayed leaving Union. On the way in it frequently sits just outside before plodding into the station at a remarkably slow speed. This is particuarly the case for rush hour. When the train gets to Union you usually have to wait for a mob of people to clear because the platforms are too narrow, have insufficient access points, and the station is not properly running Spanish solution platforms.

    Would you pay an extra $60 for this "benefit"? I wouldn't. This only works if LSW works at Union . . . which it doesn't at the moment.

    I'm not sure how well this plan was thought out. Based on the comments on the Star's site, not much. It will be interesting to see if they keep this past the one-year test period.
