Well, that's nice. Sure, Pickering, Ajax, and Whitby all have parking structures but just give us folks in the 'Shwa another surface lot.
ReplyDeleteThe worst part is that it's further west while the only way to access the train is all the way over to the east. Not that I mind a good walk in the morning, but how annoying would it be to park in this new west lot and want to ride in the west coaches of the train? You'd have to walk all the way east to the front of the trains and then all the way west again. Which brings me to another point: why is Oshawa the only station without tunnels or bridges to access the train along multiple points? It seems nuts that we all have to walk towards the east end of the platform to get out.
Because the intention from the beginning was the Oshawa Station was only temporary as it's expected to move north to where the old Knob Hills land sits.
ReplyDeleteAnd as we all know, that isn't working out so well but it's determined if they build a structure, then what? Bad planning... just awful.
Wow, can't wait for that walk in winter. You will need to add half and hour just to get from your car to the train or vise versa. And, it means even more congestion trying to get out of the lots. I guess this means folks won't be able to pull that u-turn in the Mackie drive like they do now.
