ReplyDelete“We’re always trying to find more sources of non-fare revenue, so (we’re) less reliant on the fare box to fund transit expansion. This would help us do that as well,” she said.
Maybe she could remind people higher up that, at $45 a pop for smoking infractions, and a conservative count of at least 15-20 smokers at one station in a 10 minute time period, enforcement of smoking regs might add to the revenue stream while, at the same time, you know, paying for more enforcement officers and, you know, lowering smoking and thereby living up to th e promise of a safe transit experience...
Just a thought...
