I thought all this "high tech" was supposed to make things easier and more efficient. All it seems able to produce are glitches, misinformation, and shut-downs. And a plethora of "hackers paradises".
One of my colleagues was on the train doing the pushing. She stayed on and got to work 2 1/2 hours late after a travel time of 4 hours. She was outwardly much more calm than I would have been. But it doesn't take much to accomplish that :)
I was on that train. Some things are just out of your control. This is not the first time this has happened to the Stouffville line. In fact, I've been on three trains where we've had to push the train ahead. This was (by far) the longest delay of these occurrences.
What disturbs me more is that the new Sept. schedule is now out and our train time is once again longer. A total of 7 minutes longer a day. In 9 years of riding, we've seen a travel times increase 13 minutes one-way to my station - not to mention the cost increases. What can we do about this?
It happened on a very steep hill. Respect to the conductors involved in coupling up to the broken down train and the engineers involved in the task of making the trains connect on that grade. I sure as heck wouldn't have wanted to be out there and involved in that!!! I saw two crew members from the window and they seemed to be making sure of what exactly they're going to do. I'm just happy I actually got to work unlike some people who just went home.

I've lived in the GTA for almost 10 years. You'd think I would have a better handle on multi-cultural swear words. Apparently not.
