It was pretty insane how it all started. I wish I could have captured the whole thing. Caterina (the woman who is singing) was humming to herself while waiting in line, and there was a lady in front of her that started harmonzing with her. By the time she got to the front of the line and paid, she just went that much further, and everyone, GO staff included was loving it and encouraging her. I vined her, so I just felt the proper thing to do was to introduce myself and ask permission if I could post this. She said yes, and in fact asked me to tag her. I love when spontaneous cool moments like that happen.
I don't want to live anywhere on the planet if it's not okay to randomly break out into song, provided it's not a medical disturbance to someone or against a clearly stated rule.
I sing openly in public. Those who know me know how much I love doing that.
I still call it unsolicited pollution whether it's cigarette smoke in a public space, eating a street dog on the train seat beside me, blasting a ghetto blaster in the back of a bus or singing in line at a GO station. If I wanted to hear singing, I'd buy a concert ticket or head to church. Good thing I carry earphones with me wherever I go.
This website is not only read by GO Transit passengers, but also by employees of various transit agencies across Canada and the US, members of the media and enjoys an audience from around the world. Please take that into consideration.

ReplyDeleteI'd call it noise pollution. No one paid money for a concert at Union.
ReplyDeleteShe should get a busker permit or have security escort her out.

Error,
ReplyDeleteTo each their own, all I know is there was an entire York concourse yesterday that would have flat out disagreed with you.
We need this more often.
ReplyDeleteError must've been pretty pissed seeing all the Halloween Costumes too right? Vision Pollution I'd guess you'd call it.
@ Error, any chance you could have a word with the gentlemen on the corner of Bay & Front every day preaching about God and Jesus?
ReplyDeleteJust sayin
