Anonymous commenting disabled until further notice
Dear Readers,
Due to the unfortunate abuse of the anonymous comment feature, I have to restrict commenting to Google accounts. You will need to sign in as yourself if you want to comment.
CJ, dah-link, I think this has been a long time coming. I rarely comment but you should be forcing a sign in because of the lunatics out there. This may bum out some of the rhymes with snow folks (your biggest fans!) but it forces people to be accountable for their opinions. However, this sounds like you're finally getting serious with the trolls and thank goodness! Some of the stuff that got posted in the past is just too cray cray. Ain't nobody got enough alcohol for that! YBC
@Moi I need to capture the IP addresses or else I would filter that way but for now, it's best to leave it where DNS info and such can be collected.
There are also filters provided through Blogger's software where I can set up keywords as spam but it's tedious and time consuming. For the interim, this is the best solution.
This website is not only read by GO Transit passengers, but also by employees of various transit agencies across Canada and the US, members of the media and enjoys an audience from around the world. Please take that into consideration.
You can remove your comment but a copy of that comment is retained by the software and is immediately available to the editor.
ThisCrazyTrain.com's commenting rules are simple: If you make an overly offensive comment (racist, bigoted, etc.) or go waaaay off topic, your comment will be deleted. Please conduct yourself accordingly.
Your many troll fans will delight at this turn of events.
ReplyDeleteIs there any way of efficiently filtering them out with the software you're using?
CJ, dah-link,

@YBC Appreciate the support!
No need to apologise. I think it was a long time coming.
ReplyDeleteAt least there will be more personal accountability.
Dang I have to reset my settings so I don't show up as "Moi" now.
ReplyDeleteOh well in the meantime it's acceptable in order to keep the trolls out.
I like this. It makes people accountable for what they write.
ReplyDeleteI make lunatic comments on this site all the time
ReplyDelete...but at least I'm bold enough to use my real name.
Then again, it could also be because most people have already figured out how batshit crazy I am to begin with.
