I don't believe it for an instant. I see illegal parking at Oshawa station all the time and I've only seen someone ticketing them once in the past four years. I actually wish GO would start ticketing and enforcing their fines for feet-on-seats and smoking on their property so that they wouldn't have to jack up ticket prices.

I see a lot of people park illegally at Whitby and rarely any tickets.
I agree with G this would generate a lot of revenue if they start actually enforcing their rules. I rarely even see people checking tickets for proof of payment. Why we pay more and more every year for the same lousy service baffles me.

@ Julie

They will check your ticket on weekends. I went into town this past Sunday and was checked both coming and going.

All I could think is that they need to do it during the week. That is where the money is.

i have to say no sympathy for this woman, you are an adult, you know your station lot gets full after a certain time, and clearly you know this......ignorance isnt an excuse, if you can pay 50 bucks for an parking fine, everytime, you could get a taxi and cab it.....

No sympathy for these drivers.

Most 905 transit agencies give a discounted fare with a presto card which is way cheaper than driving.

Our tax money and fares are subsidizing these car drivers.

It's great if local transit runs on your route at stupid o'clock in the morning, not all of them do. However, if this woman is getting that many tickets, buy a reserved spot.

Virtually guaranteed that if you travel in any direction on a non-rush-hour train (i.e., midday) you will be checked for tickets. I once asked the guy coming around why they only ever seem to check certain trains (or midday trains, virtually empty) and he said they check midday because it's easy to do so. Rush hour train checks depend on staffing and crowding (and, of course, how recently a huge GO fiasco has taken place....).
