GO Transit wants you to stop using the emergency strip because you missed your stop and I want GO Transit to proofread

Subject: The DO’s and DON’TS of using the yellow emergency strip

The yellow emergency strips on our trains are there for your safety. If you need emergency medical attention, the police or fire services; then please "DO" press the strip and someone will be right there to assist you. If you've missed your stop or left something at the station, please "DON'T" press the strip. Instead, "DO" go and see our crew member located in the accessible coach and they'll be happy to help you out. Remember, improper use of the strip could cause an unnecessary delay to your fellow riders and you could also receive fine of up to $1000.

GOD DAMN IT. IT'S "DOs" NOT "DO's". WHO GETS PAID TO WRITE THIS?

FIRE THAT PERSON. HE OR SHE CAN'T GRAMMAR.

  1. Also, "and you could also receive fine of up to $1000." How about "and you could also receive -a- fine of up to $1000."?

  2. Am I the only one who was slightly offended at them sending this out after last night's gong show?

They could have waited until next week after tempers cooled a bit and the system is back working.

  3. Going one step further, the line should have read: "and you will receive a fine of up to $1000."

And yes, rather insulting after the recent fare hike, the delays the first day of the fare hike, and last night's gong show.

  4. Not to mention the use of quotation marks... (did someone say "Do" and "Don't"?)

  6. I'm more offended by the misuse of a semicolon. Good old public sector employees.
