These guys are not eligible for a Darwin award. The award is only available to those that die in the act thus succeeding in not passing on their stupid genes to any potential offspring.
Not sure if it's still the case, but Darwin Awards used to be given out to people who's ability to procreate has been terminated, whether the qualifying acts of stupidity actually killed them or not.

I think there's a 'Special Mention' award for folks who do their best to die stupidly. These gents are in with a shot for sure.
