I was on the Milton train a couple of weeks ago and there was a lady sitting beside me crunching down on an apple. Annoying but fair. She jammed the core down beside the seat. A couple of days later she was at it again. This time, just throwing the core on the floor. Quite rude and inconsiderate.
USING A GARBAGE IS HARD Y'ALL!
I readily and happily shamed a woman (who had been sitting in my quad) for doing this - she finished the apple and stuck the core on the floor under her seat - a fact I noticed when she got up to leave. I commented loudly on the presence of the apple core and she sheepishly reached back into the quad to retrieve it...and put it in the garbage can that was RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER.
ReplyDeleteDisgusting - I can never fathom how and why people think this kind of thing is OK.
I think shaming in this case is MANDATORY! Why didn't the author say anything?
ReplyDeleteProblem is, those-in-charge, who are supposed to be responsible for writing and enforcing laws and regulations, just simply will not ever do anything about these types of behaviors.
ReplyDeleteThat's why these types of dilemmas continue to remain so chronically "eternally Sisyphean".
Frankly, I don't think they will EVER be addressed.
