Not sure if you've heard about the Christmas gift GO Transit customers got
WiFi here at the resort is spotty so I'm using this rare opportunity to tell those who don't know yet that Metrolinx decided no fare increase will happen in 2017.
It's an extremely surprising move, but thank goodness for it. 5% annual increases are unsustainable when salaries are increasing at less than half that rate and the cost of driving a car has actually decreased over the past two years.
I saw an article about how Bruce was saying it was unlikely to be a fare increase next year, period.
There was a happy dance about this. I really couldn't see them doing an increase after not just the boondoggle of a summer, but the damning Auditor General's report.
Pitchforks and torches were where it was heading. Not that it would have made a difference.

I am shocked.
I don't think they take any responsibility for the summer fiasco or any of the AG comments though. But it's a nice early Christmas gift.
(Fingers crossed they don't double up next time to make up for it!)
