Yes.
And I don't care what the occasional GO train customers think of me (or the rest of us who commute for work). I really don't. The amount of email I get from people who find this site when looking up schedules or how to scam Presto, who read the posts without realizing their shit is the shit we put up with during rush hours throughout the year, and bombard me with their righteous indignation over how they feel about my opinions about foot riders, suitcase straddlers, vapists, drunks, Blue Jays fans, you name it, gets immediately marked as spam.
I. Don't. Care.
Your annual $100 to $300 Go train fare to daytrip to concerts or a party, pales in comparison to what us "elitists" pay, so we are more than entitled to ask for - and demand - better service; courtesy and a comfortable ride.
If we ask you to be quiet in the quiet zone, then you be quiet in the quiet zone.
And now that we can't even claim a tax rebate for the money we shell out, well, now we're getting even more aggressive about calling you out for your shit.
A busted or jammed door means a thousand of us are now delayed. We don't care where you need to be. We just want to get home and at a time that allows us to enjoy our families, or our garden/patio, or get to an appointment on time.
Don't be a douche. The rules are no bikes during rush hour. I don't bring mine so you can't bring yours. The end.

When I say "we", I mean the we who I have met who share the same views as me.
I agree. Regular commuters are there for business. You support the system, and I cannot believe how inconsiderate people can be.
Love! This! Story! x 1000. The end.
What the frackin' hell? Who would think that bike picture is acceptable? And seriously, where was the rider who let this happen?
But regardless, I agree 110%. I don't want to put up with anyone's shit, regardless if they are commuters or day trippers. I pay too much and have received such shitty service some days (last summer anyone?) to deal with it day in and day out.
Whaaaaaaaa!
Are you calling yourself a Whambulance?
I am a rare breed of daytripper, I don't like when commuters break rules or just lack common sense, I however don't have the courage to call them out. But if you're in the quiet zone, shut the fuck up in the quiet zone (short conversations are okay of course, I'm not militant) and if it's rush hour then I am sorry but ride your bike until it isn't and feel free to board then.
One of the problems is that it seems as if no one is policing the bike rule. I've posted elsewhere about how there are one or two guys on the LSE 5:37 am from Oshawa (yeah, yeah, I know) who insist on bringing their bikes because "they've confirmed it's allowed" but it isn't - the train arrives at Union after 6:30 am and so it's not allowed. But other than calling them out (which they patently ignore), what else is really being done? No one in authority patrols the cars before the train leaves, and once it does leave, there's not much else to do. I've noticed that some cyclists are incredibly considerate and polite but at least double their number feel it's fine to take up 3 or more seats (one guy left his bike RIGHT IN FRONT OF WHERE I WAS ALREADY SITTING, thus blocking the other two bench seats beside me, and then went upstairs to, apparently, take up an entire quad with his butt and his equipment. 5 seats (would have been 6 if I hadn't already been there) all for his convenience. Morning rush hour. Nothing done.
Sure, I guess folks could hit the yellow button but I personally avoid that like the plague because I never want to cause a delay for my fellow harried commuters, but it's not really our responsibility to be policing GO's rules for them.
Can't hit love enough. i was a little dissappointed when I was walking through the train on a LSW train and passed a bike in the car before the accessability coach. When I got to the CSA I mentioned that there was a bike one coach back....the CSA looked clearly unhappy that they were being asked to deal with it. Surprise, surprise...they didn't deal with it.
It must be tempting to grab a bike like that and just chuck it out the door. Unfortunately with CCTV cameras everywhere these days there is no way to do it without getting caught.
I was wondering if someone came on with a bike in the rush and went upstairs could one technically at the first stop place said bike out of the train . I mean the owner is upstairs, how would they know? Jus' sayin'
If it was during rush hour, I would have thrown the bike off. If a fist fight ensues, I'll take the owner down a peg if I must.
