Well, in Oshawa, parking spaces really ARE that hard to come by (particularly if you arrive after 7 am). That doesn't by any means suggest I'm condoning what this driver did - but the parking situation is dire.
Ouch! Deepfish spoke truth to power about Oakville!
Every so often when I'm on the 4:00 PM to midnight shift, if I'm likely to miss catching the train in Burlington after driving round from home in Hamilton, I'll continue down the QEW to Oakville and catch it there. Whenever I end up doing this, I always wonder if I'll come back in the middle of the night to find a note on my beat up, hand me down 1997 minivan telling me that while it's understood that poor people do have to use public transportation, my vehicle is unbecoming of being parked in the Oakville commuter lot and that I should consider replacing it with an import 10 years of age or less. I'm sure people hate seeing it parked there because I'm probably wiping out at least $100,000 of everyone's property values the moment I pull into the parking lot.
It would be helpful if GO enforced all of the parking, no smoking, rules they have signage for. It is RARE to see cars get ticketed. I have NEVER seen one get towed. We are commuters have to enforce Quiet Zones, seats hogs, foot riders. GO should make more of an effort than to leave it up to us.

Are parking spaces really THAT hard to come by?
ReplyDeleteWhat is the problem with what I'm looking at?
ReplyDelete@Anonymous the sign is a bit hidden by the glare of the sun but if you zoom in you will see that the spot is reserved for motorcycles only.

Rob, why not park at Aldershot - still parking left at the end of the rush hour?
