Metrolinx inconveniences hundreds of customers for film shoot

Sent by email

Clarkson GO Station Passengers:
On Wednesday, November 1 from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., there will be a film crew using the parking garage at your station and the 5th floor and a portion of the 4th floor will be closed. As well, approximately 20 parking spaces outside the parking structure will be used for equipment. Please allow extra time to find parking at your station.

We thank you for your patience.

Pardon? How about everyone getting on at Clarkson gets a free GO train ride to work that morning?

How much is Metrolinx being paid?

  1. On the flip side: why don't they film on the weekend.

That way, only those causing the disruption will be disrupted and not the poor schmos taking transit.

  2. I have a feeling this was more a what was more convenient for the film company rather than Metrolinx's customers.

  3. It was very frustrating this morning to locate a vacant parking spot. Obviously I was not aware of so many precious spots being allocated to a film crew and would like to know what GO Transit/Metrolinx is doing for me as I missed 2 trains due to this.

  4. This is so inconsiderate, unbelievable. If they had to film on a weekday, at least could have posted visible notices a few days in advance.

  5. I missed the "so petty" comment. Please explain how being inconvenienced and expected compensation since we PAY for RELIABLE service is petty? And try not to be an asshole when you do.

  6. I agree about advance notice. Would have been nice to receive advanced notice about the parking situation. I missed 2 trains!
