@GOtransit still investigating? #nosafety 1 engineer driving & 2nd goes for #coffeebreak..@Bombardier @Teamsters .why are you quiet? pic.twitter.com/wbK1NTLwQS— RjE (@citoyendumond10) October 19, 2017
it never stops @GOtransit #coffeebreak still delaying the 7.43 Union 2 Alder at Oakville Station @CP24 @globalnewsto @MetroNewsCanada pic.twitter.com/FxpVo2LbqM— RjE (@citoyendumond10) October 18, 2017
Just because the train is moving away from Union is not an excuse. Commuters heading out of the city are entitled to a properly kept schedule. Is this normal? I should hope not.
They need a coffee break after their long chit-chat at Mimico when they change crew. I've sat numerous times and watched while they shoot the breeze while we wait.
ReplyDeleteIts called job breifing. Job briefings are a requirment when changing crews to keep passengers safe.
DeleteHow long has this been going on for?
ReplyDeleteThe ONLY thing for certain here is one of the engineers or conductors grabbed a coffee at Oakville stn. Nobody knows how many engineers there were running the train or if it was actually late leaving the stn? There’s a lot more to this that the 2 clips show. Betting go transit would have looked into it though.
ReplyDeletehere goes a leftist and his maybe...i saw only 2 engineers and the train did leave 3 mins late which was confirmed by GO...anything else anonymous?
DeleteThe train crew do long hauls which mean they can opperate the train for up to 10 hrs. They need coffee.
DeleteWhy not announce to passengers that there will be a brief delay at Oakville for a crew member to grab a coffee. Probably won't go over well on an express train though.
DeleteYes, I have confirmed with the person who shot the footage that he was able to get this escalated to GO's attention. However, not much was done due to the employees being protected by their union's constitution. I'm actually looking into this.
ReplyDeletebit of a misunderstanding here. I meant that unions only care about their right to collective bargaining as in the Constituion but they forget that they have a duty to care about the people they serve
DeleteJust stop. What outcome would you like? Do you want to see someones life ruined over a coffee? Please. Dont you have anything better to do
DeleteTrain drivers aren't MX employees. Go can call Bombardier with things like this but its up to Bombardier to investigate and decide what action to take.
ReplyDeleteIt could have been worse. The train could have left 10 minutes late instead of three.
ReplyDeleteSome of you folks must be on an awfully tight-ass schedule .....??????
Yes some people complain about anything. Its like a illness
DeleteMust have been around the time that Tim Horton's installed their coffee trailer/windbreak for smokers...
ReplyDeleteLooks like we struck a nerve.
ReplyDeleteHere's the thing NO ONE at GO Transit explains ANYTHING to passengers so we are left to assume and guess.
This is why, friend, transparency is important.
You don't have to be a dick to clear the air. Take the high road. Usually, this results in an apology, otherwise, everyone just continues to be assholes.
How do you know the delay was caused by getting a coffee? Maybe the delay was caused by something else and the crew used the opportunity to get a coffee? If you need to assume, why does it have to be the worst? Why can't you give people the benefit of the doubt?
ReplyDeleteAre you blind?
ReplyDeleteYou can see the crew member walk through the train in the video holding takeout coffee!
Go away troll.
