When you ask someone to not put feet on the seats...
The inevitable follow-up: http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-metro-train-claim-20180129-story.html
Another passenger, Selena Lechuga, got off the train at the same time (as Bethany Nava - the footrider) and shouted at the officer, telling him he was taking matters too far. She was handcuffed by police at the same stop and spit in an officer's face, video showed. She was eventually arrested for battery on a police officer.
Nava has filed a claim, which is a precursor to a possible lawsuit. Nava accuses the sergeant of excessive force, false imprisonment, negligence, infliction of emotional distress and violating her civil rights. She wore a brace on her right wrist Monday.’
Comedy gold.

I don't think anybody comes off well in that video.
ReplyDeleteChrist, aren't these kids taught to do what the copper tells you? Such disrespect. I'm amazed the copper stayed so respectful. Millenials!
ReplyDeleteThis millenial would have done what the cop asked, we're not all bad.
ReplyDeleteThe choice to use language that would make most sailor blush was an interesting one. This young woman hardly comes off as an innocent young victim when she's cursing up a storm. The video suggests a story somewhat different that the one she tells where she "immediately" removed her feet on the first request.
ReplyDeleteWith all that said, I'm not sure I would take kindly to being physically pulled off a train in the event that a train officer felt I hadn't obeyed him (true or not). I agree with @Mark - nobody is a hero in this particular situation.
This epitomizes the attitudes of your quintessential "normals" when told they are expected to follow the same rules and laws as any "lessers" and "dregs".
ReplyDeleteWow nobody gets light-hearted comments..didn't you see the exclamation mark? Chill out people! Why is the world SO SENSITIVE!!
ReplyDeleteBob, I got it, but still we're not all bad.
ReplyDeleteI feel ya Bob.
ReplyDelete100% behind the officer!
ReplyDeleteThat incident wouldn’t have happened if the girl just took her foot of the seat. End of story.
That they played the racism card was pathetic.
Obey the rules and shut the hell up.
