60 parking spots needed this much fan fare?

They are struggling to find things to praise. So much crap has been flung at them (and most of it is deserved) that why not praise 60 spaces?

Anything for a photo op. Can we expect a ribbon cutting ceremony when Burlington GO station is reopened (hopefully before I die)?

4 tweets from Del Duca as well!

Funny part about Maple, is was a disaster years ago before Rutherford Station was built.

Nearby Maple, there is a cemetary and guess where the donkeys were parking? Yup, amongst the headstones.

So it's surprising to see they finally found room for 60 plus parking spots as a solution now since this station has been an issue since the 1990s which was the reason why Rutherford GO Station was created to take the pressure off of Maple.

GO Transit built Rutherford Station. But still screwed that up in the late 1990s by only providing 2 car exits onto a 2 lane side street that connected into Rutherford Road. Hence the term "Rutherford Runner" became popular. As a former Aurora GO Transit rider it was hillarious to see the stop at Rutherford on the way northbound at night. The doors would open and all hell would break loose as people ran to their cars in a mad sprint that would make Donovan Bailey proud. If you didn't run and instead walked, you darn well waited in your car for 30 minutes.

They have since restructured the bus loop (again another screw up) to allow cars to enter and exit from this entrance as well. Not sure why they needed a full bus loop when a simple underpass bridge beneath Rutherford Road would have sufficed.

On the other hand, Maple GO Station is in the riding of Vaughan, whose MPP is... Steven Del Duca. (That's why 60 parking spaces is such a big deal!)

Of course. The fine art of patronage.
