Thanks, Squiggles. He would have turned 18 in March - been with me since I got my first apt. on my own in 2nd year university. I always told him he had to live until at least 20 (thought he was listening) and we had just had a checkup where the vet said he could pass for a cat 5 years younger, so I was still totally shocked. He passed in his sleep in his nice heated bed, and I am glad for that but it was still hard thinking, I would have paid more attention to him last night. I guess any way it happens, it's not good.

Sob!
Onions! And tissue alert! You need to advise if this is a tissue alert article!
Where are all the tissues?!
So sorry for the loss of your well-loved pet. And proof (not that I needed any) that cats are just as "emotional" a pet as dogs are known to be.
Whoops - sorry Nora. I should post a little note that this is not my doggy.
Oh well - it was someone's and so my virtual sympathies to them. Very sweet story though...
Oh it's definitely real and legit. And it makes me feel less rage-y every time I read it.
I lost my cat Jan. 23.. sigh. :(
I am so sorry Kelly. It is hard, but it does get better.
I lost my second cat (less than 4 years after the first) the day after my birthday last year.
