@PRESTOcard Where can I send a copy of the letter I got from the CRA in October that said otherwise?

Don't you know that Presto knows better than the CRA...they also know better than the customer.
I have never had an issue with submitting my nameless Presto report to CRA. Don't know if this was a CRA oversight or if the letter you received (I remember that story) reflects a new and not-improved policy on the part of the tax man.... Regardless, there are two different messages being given to transit riders, and that's not acceptable, regardless of who the players are.
The hell? They could use names in 2011 and 2012. They have the field in the 2013 reports. Presto needs to 'splain to CRA. CRA needs to be looped in on what Presto is.
I sense another gong show for 2014.
CRA's own website says it needs to show "the identity of the rider, either by name or unique identifier."

So why aren't CRA following their own guidance??
TomW... the explanation my friend received was that the number on the report could belong to anyone. There's no connection on the report of the number to the person claiming it. My friend even sent a photocopy of her Presto card (showing the number and her signature) and CRA still wouldn't take it.
People shouldn't have to go through such a hassle to claim this credit.
My friend Sandra is in the same boat. She was denied. She has to pay back the money by Feb 27.
I don't know if my friend's situation is resolved yet. It's been going on since last August.
So... wait... by extension, doesn't that mean EVERY Presto user's transit claim should be disallowed for the same reason? If CRA and Presto/Metrolinx persist in this game, it's going to be one big clusterfuck by the time it's over.
Contact your respective MP and demand they follow-up with CRA for clarification. Here's the list:

I was audited by the CRA last year; they wanted proof of my transit usage. I simply photocopied my Presto Card, front and back, and provided it to them with a copy of my transit usage report. They accepted it right away and I got to keep my money :)
@Ashley - I guess you got a great reviewer. My friend did the same thing and get rejected the first two times. Her issue is finally resolved after she sent everything in again.
girl in the picture looks like she can take in the ass.
